Well, it is that time of year again.  Final exams are just around the corner.  Keep a cool head about yourself and don’t get too stressed out.  If you have done your part over the last 15 weeks then you will be fine.  If you have slacked off and think that you can just cram, well, good luck.

Don’t forget to exercise, eat right, and get plenty of sleep during the last week or two before the finals.  There comes a point that studying becomes counter productive, especially when you are trying to learn and actually remember information when your body and mind have been deprived of nutrition and sleep.

Look over your notes and outlines.  Review those areas that you feel you have the most trouble with.  Go over elements of the black-letter law.  But do it all in moderation.  Law students often make a faulty finding in their own minds: Finals week is a week to learn what I didn’t get in class.  WRONG!  You should not be learning anything during the last few days before your finals.  You should simply be recalling or reinforcing what you learned during the previous 14 or 15 weeks.  If you are learning something for the first time you have missed the point.

Look at your finals as an opportunity to apply the knowledge that you have learned.  It is a way for you to take an unknown fact pattern and apply the law to it.  After all, this is what you will be doing in the “real world” someday, right?  God Bless and have a great day.
