This is a relatively short post because the message is very simple; don’t forget to take some “me” time once and a while.
Life can be very hectic for any law student and especially so for the non-traditional law student. Law school is a very demanding endeavor and requires a lot of time and commitment. It can be so demanding at times that you may forget about other important things in life, such as life itself. Law school is not the end-all and be-all of life. Take some time once and a while to do the things you love to do.
If you think too much about all you have to get done you may just forget to take care of yourself. This can be dangerous to your health. Take some time once and a while to do the things you love to do. Letting yourself get too stressed out will affect every aspect of your life, including your studies.
If all you think about is work, family, and school then all of those things will eventually begin to suffer. Take some time each week to do those things you like to do. Watch your favorite show. Go to the movies. Take your wife out on a date. Read a (non-legal) book. Whatever it is, take the time to do it. You will find that your mind will be refreshed and your studies will improve as a result.
