Many times law students believe that if they know the law that they will do great in school.  This is partly true but not totally.  You must also know your professor.  Knowing the law is just not enough.  Remember that professors are people too.  And just like any other person on the planet they have their own views and opinions.

Think of the lawyers that argue before the Supreme Court of the United States.  They know the law.  But the way they present their knowledge of the law and the issue may be the difference between a win and a loss.  The Court is pretty evenly split right now and on an issue that is likely to go 5-4 it is imperative to know how the Justices think and how they have ruled.

The same is true for your law school professor.  Pay attention to your professor in class.  How does she speak?  What does she spend more time on?  Is she pro prosecution or defense?  Is she conservative or liberal?  On M.C. questions this obviously make no difference.  But on essays that extra edge in catering to what your professor is looking for may just mean the difference between an A and a B.

God Bless and have a great day.
