My family and I had a great Thanksgiving-day dinner. Turkey, stuffing, yams, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, and the list goes on. . . It was a wonderful time of eating and visiting with family. And it was a welcome break from the stresses of law school and studying. But after all the food is put away and the relatives leave it is back to business as usual.
It was great to relax for a day and think about nothing but the holiday, and I hope that is what you did as well. Taking time out of your busy studying is a must. Good luck getting back into the “swing” of things. As a non-traditional law student I go on the weekends. And the ABA requires a certain amount of class hours per term, so I often must go to school when I would rather not. I will be in class this Saturday hitting the books once again with barely any time to relax over the holiday weekend. But I relished that one day off.
This is the burden of the non-traditional law student. But I just keep thinking that it will be worth it in the end. This is the attitude one must have to keep one’s sanity. Time really does fly by, and it will not be long before your student career is a distant memory, and you are a practicing attorney. Hang in there and keep at it.
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
